Hi, friends! It’s been a long time since I posted, but I’m so happy to be back today with Holly and Sarah for Hello Monday.
Fast Update
Wow, life sure got very busy during the last few weeks of March with work on writing Learning Outcome Summaries and parent-teacher interviews. Once it was all over, I finally had the brain space to really start concentrating on preparing for our trip to Singapore and Japan.
Luckily, I took an extra week off before the trip so I could organize myself. This might be the best decision ever. When I was still working, I couldn’t focus on anything but work. My brain doesn’t seem to do many of the big tasks like work and travel. I need to sort it out.
It’s funny because I can handle everyday affairs well. However when there was something big about to happen, everything else would just be ignored. I finally need to fully focus on one thing at a time.
Am I the only one like this?
Shutting Down Jobs
However, once my leave actually started, I had no trouble forgetting all about work. I pressed that button and went straight into vacation mode, with no worries at all.
I was so excited to go, but at the same time, I was anxious about the flying part. Thankfully, this time I wasn’t as bad as on our trip to the US in 2025, when I felt physically sick every time I thought about getting on a plane. Instead, I found myself becoming anxious about why I wasn’t so anxious. Oh my, my brain!
Flying Anxiety
I’ve learned that the anticipation of takeoff is worse than the actual event. Once we’re in the air, I’m usually fine and just pretend to be on the train, but that initial moment actually freaked me out!
The good news was that everything went well, and although I secretly cried every time I took off, I didn’t cry on the flight home. I think by then we had already made three flights and I was too tired to be afraid. Or maybe I’m starting to get the hang of it. Off I go!
Travel Preparation
I make so many lists. Lists of what to pack, possible outfits, places to visit, what to eat, what not to forget, grocery lists, and lists to remember where I put my list. You get the picture.
I tried the Sudoku packing method, and while it looked and sounded great on Instagram (don’t they all?), I couldn’t stick with all three grids. I added another box, then another box, so in the end, I guess my method was more crossword than Sudoku. Besides, mathematics is not my favorite subject.
Staycation Before We Leave
We knew this holiday would be very full and we would pack as much as we could into 13 days. So Steve and I decided to spend a night on the town four days before we flew.
Fullerton Hotel Sydney
We stayed at the Fullerton Hotel Sydney at Martin Place, which was the perfect way to relax before we walked a gazillion steps every day. Haha, that song by The Proclaimers was stuck in my head almost the entire trip. “And I will walk 500 miles, and I will walk another 500 miles…” Yes, of course!
So, it was a good thing for us to enjoy some quiet and peaceful moments in such a beautiful hotel.

This is the view from our table in the restaurant. It reminded me of the scene of a concert hall Sound of Musicand I half expected the Von Trapp kids to come out singing any moment.

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.
In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.
The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
