Even though thrift hunting has changed radically over the past year, people’s love for thrift stores and all the treasures they hold still burns brightly. And the proof is in the pudding—or, more accurately, this list.
The ‘Thrift Store Hauls’ subreddit is a large online community with 1.6 million members. Active since August 2011, r/ThriftStoreHauls has been attracting thrift lovers ever since. We’ve rounded up some of the best photos of the interesting, cool, weird, and downright great finds they have on display for you to enjoy. As you scroll down, upvote photos that impress you, and think about the most amazing items you’ve ever brought home from a thrift hunt—we want to hear all about your second-hand finds, dear Reader.
The founder of r/ThriftStoreHauls tells Bored Panda that they started the community because, at the time, there wasn’t a strong subreddit dedicated to thrifting. “I wanted to have a place where people could share stuff they found, but the existing subreddit was completely inactive,” they said. Read on for our founder’s insight into the community and the hobby’s possible future post-pandemic.
