After getting my new Swatch recently, I started thinking about all the watches I’ve owned over the years. Each holds special memories. Not only because they were gifts from family, but also because they marked important phases in my life.
They do more than just tell the time (and show me how late I’m running). Each watch has marked a special moment for me. So I thought I’d take you on a little museum tour of watches I’ve worn over the years. Let’s go!
My Watch, My Memories
1982 Casio
My uncle bought me my first adult watch for Christmas in 1982. It was a Casio digital watch, and I remember how excited I was to have a high-tech watch! Being a kid and not having to worry about confusing old watch faces is also a bonus.
I wore it everywhere for years… and then I lost it. It just disappeared, and I looked everywhere but couldn’t find it. One day, I helped my mother defrost an ancient freezer section in the refrigerator. There he is, right behind. Go.
Swatch
When I was 15 years old, Swatch watches were all the rage, and almost everyone at school had one. Fashion and trends dominate, so I said goodbye to high-tech digital watches and happily returned to traditional watches. For my 15th birthday, my mom let me choose my own Swatches, and I was so excited.
If you’re from my era, the 80s, you probably remember how colorful everything was. Neon and bold prints are everywhere. I remember standing in mercy bro counter trying to decide which Swatch to buy. There are so many to choose from! But even so, I prefer safer and more neutral colors, so in the end I chose gray with a colorful hand.
Seiko
I’ve owned a silver Seiko since I was 23, and more than 30 years later, it’s still my favorite watch. My mother gave it to me as a Christmas gift many years ago, and I have cherished it ever since. Wearing it felt like carrying a little piece of him with me.
I even put a silver bracelet on it, a gift from another uncle, and I wore it together. I love how this watch feels on my wrist. It’s loose enough to be comfortable but secure enough that I never worry about losing it.
Apple Watch

I didn’t rush out to buy an Apple Watch when it first came out. I love new technology, but I usually only invest in technology if I know it will make a real difference to my life.
Turns out that’s what happened when my mom came to live with us, and unfortunately age started to catch up with her. There are times when he is home alone, so to make sure he is safe, we gave him a personal alarm that he wears around his neck on a lanyard. If he falls, I will automatically be notified on my phone.
The hardest part is that I’m not allowed to take my phone with me at work. So the perfect solution is an Apple Watch, which my husband bought for me. Any alert can go straight to my wrist.
It worked well, and I clearly remember the moment my watch started buzzing to let me know that my mother had fallen, sending me into an immediate panic. Luckily, I live only a three-minute drive away, so I ran home and found him completely safe. Phew!
Turns out he had a moment and, irritated by the alarm hanging around his neck, threw it on the bed, then turned it off. It was a relief to see him okay, even though he was a little irritated by the whole thing.
Example 2026

In 2026, new child safety regulations mean we will no longer be allowed to wear smartwatches at work. My Apple Watch had to be retired.
I’m sad to say goodbye because I also love seeing how many steps I take each day, usually more than 10,000, because we really are on the way, way, way.
Then, when my birthday came, I felt nostalgic for my long-gone teenage years. I decided that the cure for nostalgia was to revisit the fun times and go all out with colorful Swatches I never dared choose back then. I’m so shy, I don’t even want to draw attention to my wrist!
Bright, Bold and More Than That
And now I have achieved complete success and become the happy owner of the bright pink Swatch watch that my son bought me. Choosing a bright color like this is a big deal for me. This kind of signals a new phase in my life, when I feel braver and get out of my comfort zone.
I always play it safe, and while I’m not booking a bungee jumping experience any time soon, I know that since last year, I’m much more open to trying new things and having new adventures.
I’ll always be reserved, at least until I get to know someone, but I’m okay with drawing attention to my wrist now.
And that sums up all the watches I own. These days, my hot pink Swatch is my everyday watch, the Seiko goes out for special occasions, and the Apple Watch is mostly a weekend watch. If I recall, I sometimes wore it to and from work to track steps.
Each of my watches reminds me of different times in my life, the people who gave them to me, and the moments that made them special.
Wearing it now feels like it brings back a little of the past, the present, and a little of the fun times and adventures to come—hooray! Who would have thought that a watch could be a little time machine that stores memories?
PakarPBN
A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.
In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.
The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
