The terrible event occurred on Sunday, June 29, when the Disney Dream cruise ship returned from a shipping four nights in Bahamas to Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
The 5 -year -old girl fell from the fourth deck of the ship, triggering a direct panic with a scream of fear echoing on the ship.

Rumors circulating online initially won a 37 -year -old father, claiming he lifted his daughter on a fence of 42.5 inches (3.5 feet) for the sake of photo.
The child then fell back and fell into the water, according to claims that were not verified.
However, the Sheriff Broward County office confirmed that the little girl was not detained by her father in the moment before falling.

The girl was on the fence and fell back through the drain hole, said Sheriff Gregory Tony on Wednesday, July 2.
He noted that the father did not put the child on the fence but did not determine who did it or whether the child went up alone.
At a certain point, the mother raised the alarm and told her husband.
“After the girl’s mother told her husband, who did not see the incident, she jumped into the sea to save her daughter,” he said.

Chandler, a passenger on the ship, said there was a “kind of commotion” at that time.
“Then the terrible scream of what I assumed was the mother and then this big spark,” he said People.

Another passenger, Nikki, said he saw a commotion but had to turn away.

A few moments after the little girl fell into the water, the father kept her daughter alive by stepping on the water with her for 20 minutes until the savior arrived, said Sheriff.
“Detective BSO said after the 37 -year -old father found his daughter, he stepped on water until they were saved by a tender launched from the ship,” said Sheriff Gregory.

“BSO investigators said the total time from the decline in child accidents to rescue was around 20 minutes. After being saved, the father and child were examined by the ship’s medical staff,” he added.
Upon returning the ship to the port, the father was taken to the hospital to receive treatment due to the injury he suffered during rescue.
“This family is very blessed. It is very fun to respond to good news than what can be a tragic result,” Sheriff added.

Officials said the investigation was still ongoing, but they released certain details “in response to wrong information” circulating online.
“We have not caught one of the parents. We want to be clearer – this is to stop the wrong information that comes out on social media attacking this family,” said the Sheriff Public Information officer Fox 35.

Chandler said he was worried that the incident would end tragically.

Monica Shannon, another passenger on the ship, said he was waiting with his family on Deck 3 to meet with Disney’s daughter when the incident occurred.
“I saw something very quickly flying, I didn’t think about it,” he told CBS News. “I just thought it might be part of the show or just experience, but about five minutes later we heard that someone flew into the sea.”
Monica claimed she then spoke with a ship employee, who witnessed the terrible event that occurred on deck 4.
