Hi friends, happy Monday. Today I’m connecting with Holly and Sarah and sharing a little about my weekend. Thank you for being here 😊
Yes, it’s been a quiet weekend, and that’s okay. I love a quiet weekend, especially when it rains, and boy, do we get a lot of rain here.
Saturday
We had a lot of eggs in the fridge, so I thought I’d make a quiche. The only problem was I didn’t have any bacon. I googled what else you can add to a quiche if you don’t have bacon. And while several options have emerged, none of them sound as good as the option with bacon.
So I thought I’d walk to the local fruit shop, where they sell more than just fruit. They also have lots of items from places like Italy, Greece, and Macedonia. It’s like a small continental deli, stocked with sauces, olives, cheeses, sausages, canned goods from all over, and good old bacon.
I rarely walk anywhere when I’m on holiday, so I was excited to get out and get some steps. However, when I left the house, it was drizzling and the sky looked quite dark. I went back in, got the keys, and decided I’d better get the car.
By the time I turned onto a fairly large road, it was stormy! I could barely see what was in front of me, even with the wipers on full blast. Great, I thought, this is where I die… all for damn meat!
The journey is only short, but it feels endless. I was too scared to try again, so I probably muttered a few bad words and had to move on. The puddles were huge, and I was so glad there was no one on the trail, otherwise they would have been soaked by the tidal waves created by everyone’s tires.
On the way home it was still raining heavily, but not like on the way there. I took the back road this time and made it back safely. I also bought a few other things, because that’s what I always do whenever I go out for something. Do you do it too?
Sunday
Take a guess? After many years, I found out Caregiver! I loved it and spent most of Sunday binge-watching it. I remember when it first came on TV, in 1993, and it never really appealed to me. That was the year my oldest son was born, so maybe I was a little distracted and didn’t pay enough attention to the comedy world at that time.
If you’ve watched the show, you know the theme song.
She worked at a bridal shop in Flushing, Queens.
’till his girlfriend throws him out in one of those devastating scenes.
What should he do?
Where should he go?
He came out of himself fanny.
Fanny! Do you know what fanny means in Australia? That’s rude!!
I won’t give a definition here because, blush ðŸ¤
You have to look for it, and then you will understand why we mention fanny packs here.
After all, it was my weekend. Now I’m off to watch another episode Caregiver and sing that very catchy theme song, hehe.
I hope you have a wonderful day or night, wherever you are.
