Hi, friends! This week wasn’t exactly brilliant, but there were still plenty of bright spots to get me through. One of the great things about joining these links is that it makes you stop and notice the good things instead of dwelling on everything that isn’t going well. So here are some of my favorites from Friday.
Autumn is coming
Just this week, I noticed a change in the weather. The mornings and evenings are getting cooler, although the days are still very warm and the humidity is still maintained. My personal moisture indicator, which also happens to be in my hair, confirms this.
Even after keratin treatment, when damp, my bangs still curl and stick straight into my left eye (very annoying). Thankfully, it wasn’t as bad as the pre-keratin days when my hair fell out completely. Small wins.
It’s also getting dark a little earlier, and for the first time, I’m not sad about the transition from summer to winter. My recent encounter with a giant cockroach, coupled with the relentless humidity, has definitely made me more open to colder weather.
Or maybe it’s just because our trip is coming up, and we’re heading into spring in Singapore and Japan. It definitely helped me not grumble about the change.
I Found a New Show
Monday night, I was home alone, so I ate dinner while watching another episode Happy Valley. Have you seen this fantastic British crime show? This is very good. For some reason, I thought it was a comedy because of the name. And as I was browsing Binge looking for something to watch, I thought I’d give this “comedy” a try. Well, it’s far from a comedy, but it’s definitely the best crime show I’ve watched in years, and I’m hooked.
Oh, and my cottage pie with salad was pretty good too.
Midweek Dinner Meeting
Our friends invited us over for dinner on Wednesday night, and I was happy to have a few midweek plans to look forward to. To start, we grow olives and pickle them, with taramasalata and crackers.
I asked where the crackers came from because they were so delicious, and would you believe they were homemade? Not only do our friends make their own pickled olives, they also make sourdough. The crackers are made from leftover sourdough dough, plus a few seeds. Wow!

They surprised me with a belated birthday gift.

I said, “Let’s open it now,” and we sure did!

Dinner Out
Thursday night, we had a staff meeting, and it was hard to concentrate because I was hungry and looking forward to dinner with my husband at a local Japanese restaurant. Ramen and gyoza for us, all “research” to compare when we go to Japan 😉

cockatoo
One day, when I really wanted to laugh, I saw this crazy cockatoo hanging upside down on a power line outside my house. It almost does a complete 360 degree when it tries to bite through the wire. It made me LOL, and it felt so good.

Positive Vibes
And I got a belated birthday present from my son. He tidied up his game room and came out with these positive peas (technically, little crocheted peas, but the sign said “positive peas”). He said he bought it to go with the Swatch watch he and his brother gave me, then forgot about it. I really need these little nuts of positivity in my life. Isn’t that the cutest? He now lives on my desk, and I love him.

And those are some of the small, simple, but very necessary things I needed this week.
These positive beans are out and wishing you the happiest weekend!

PakarPBN
A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.
In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.
The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
