Hi, friends! I can hardly believe it’s FRIDAY, and it feels like I blinked and the week just flew by. I always have the best intentions of writing these posts throughout the week, like a little diary of each day’s favorite things. The sensible and easiest way to do it, right?
But here I am like the old high school students, leaving my assignments until the last minute. This doesn’t mean that blogging is a task that I have to complete. No, not at all. But I want to be more organized and consistent like before.
Anyway, it’s Friday afternoon, I just got home from work, and I see I’ve only taken a few blurry photos this week. That’s OK because I’m sure I can remember some of the week’s highlights without as many visual clues as I’d hoped. Hmm, let’s test the old core, shall we…
Monday
Monday is a blur, but I remember writing a Share Our Lives post. It was fun to talk about some of the things I often buy in the supermarket. I also enjoy reading what others share in the links. Talking about groceries is my love language.
Tuesday
Tuesdays are work-from-home days, which always makes me feel like an adult. Hi, I’m Ruth, and yes, I’m an adult who works from home on Tuesdays. I guess working at a preschool makes me feel like an eternal child.
But twice a year, when we have to write a progress summary, I do it at home in a quiet atmosphere, without constant noise and din. It was so quiet, my ears were ringing, and I also felt like I was walking around school.
Wednesday
Wednesday was fun because I had an appointment at the hairdresser for a proper color treatment. I usually do it myself, and the last time I dyed my hair professionally was about 20 years ago. My mom and I would go out together, and I loved the time spent getting color and highlights with her. I really miss those days. You know what they say about the good old days. You don’t realize you’re living it when it happens. Cherish every minute with your favorite people!
I am so happy with my shiny brown hair and so happy to say goodbye to rough hair post keratin treatment.
Thursday
I’ve been looking forward to Thursday all week. I discovered that my favorite restaurant, No Names, which closed about 10 years ago, actually operated out of the Erskineville Bowling Club.

Let me go back a few decades and explain a little about this iconic Sydney restaurant.
A Little Background
No Names is a small Italian restaurant located in Darlinghurst. The tables were crowded together, and the decoration was completely non-existent. Imagine a 1970s Formica table with mismatched chairs. Kind of like the Brady Bunch’s kitchen table going wrong.
Then there’s the angriest waiter in the universe. They would slide cutlery across the table with such force, and I’m sure they secretly wanted to throw it at customers. The menu is simple. Spaghetti bolognese, veal or chicken schnitzel, half-and-half spaghetti and schnitzel combinations, and oh yes, they also offer fried liver with onions. I always have, you guessed it… bolognese!
This is no ordinary bolognese sauce. It was pure magic, probably made from a recipe passed down from many Nonnas. They also give you free chunky bread with butter and a red or green cordial.
Oh my gosh, I really love this place, and I’m so glad I was able to enjoy it from childhood to adulthood.
If I ever had a choice between a fine dining restaurant or No Names in Darlinghurst, it would be a no-brainer. No Names will get my vote straight away.
So you can understand my excitement on Thursday night. And then, like all good memories, mine probably should have stayed there on my last visit about a month before it closed at Darlinghurst. I miss the servants. This is too smiley. The decor is old-fashioned but still too fancy, and the spaghetti isn’t as saucy as it used to be. The bread is different, and there are no friendly drinks. I was forced to drink wine 😜
I know for sure I don’t want to go back, and although I feel sad about the past, I’m happy to be able to enjoy a piece of history and have happy memories. So it was still a fun Thursday night with my family who doesn’t like bolognese. Haha, Steve ordered schnitzel, and Sam ordered a burger. Yep, they expanded the menu.

And those are some of my highlights and favorites this week. They’re a bit nostalgic, aren’t they?
Now it’s time for me to go out and go unpack my shopping which has arrived. Don’t worry, I ran to the center of the post and stored things in the fridge and freezer.
Then I’ll shower, eat dinner in front of the TV, and make the most of the good old days. How was your week? I hope it’s good.

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.
In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.
The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
